Pulp fiction

In a drama film there are more simple shots but that doesn’t make it less interesting because there are not a lot of fancy affects. The shots of the film gives actors and the story a wide-range of point of view and scene development. In the film Pulp Fiction we see a lot of two shots over the shoulder, medium close-up and reaction shots because it’s focused on character development. No digital special effects aside from the violent scenes in the film. The best built up and erratic scene in pulp fiction is when they went to retrieve the case with gold in an apartment with common thieves. Starts with a close up on the door lock and it being unlocked then into a medium wide shot of the two main characters, Vincent and Jules who are hitmen. In most of the shots they used lower angles to show their authority in the space and in this scene. Once they entered the apartment all of the people in the scene were all given reaction shots in order to draw out the tension rather than just going into

Sounds of My Area

https://youtu.be/3MBDz4KCfSk I’m a student so being receptive to most sounds outside my window isn’t apparent. In the room I tend to get more embellished in my work than to the sounds present outside. In my case many students have this shared experience with the absent of sound when engaged into our studies. Only hearing the keyboards when they type. No walking around or hearing people outside just your own movements. Many students could agree they don't walk the street of their neighborhood and talk to people around their neighborhood because we’re busy with typing and completing work. Our travel takes most of our time and the consent tunnel vision we may subject ourselves cancels out most sounds. In the lower ranges of sounds recording in my audio file can be associated with sounds we miss like nature the birds, wind and the movement. This is our reminder of what we are missing when we lose touch of our environment. Our ambition is great, but it leads us to this on and off mode

Artist Statement

Hi I'm Kassandra Luyando a senior at Hunter college double majoring in Media Studies and Sociology.  I'm also a graduate of LaGuardia Community College with a Degree in Deaf studies. Learning American Sign Language was a childhood goal of mine. I obtain more insight on the Deaf communities most brilliant, resilient artist and advocates of their community. Chuck Baird is a famous Deaf painter of the De'Via Art movement challenging this idea that US education system had castrated Deaf language by forcing them to speak instead of signing. Many of his paintings reflected his reality and movement, which ultimately made him a stable in the community. Christiana Sun Kim a Deaf musician and performance artist that redefined sound as something we could follow and relate too without the need of hearing it. Both of these artist reflect the type of artistry that I tend to immerse myself into because most of my material comes from my memory and experiences.  Living in the South Bronx w
